Ardens is the mother of Shakespeare.

The historians say the Shakespeare arrived in London in 1592 . Historians believe that Shakespeare came to London Because his son was dead

3. What was the population of London during Shakespeare's time? Can you briefly describe what the city was like at the time? How did it smell like?


The population of London was at 1600 to 2000 people. London was a very smelly place. There were diferents things caused the smell for example  the butches would skin and gut animals and the throw unwanted bits and bobs in the river.

4. Who was the ruler when Shakespeare first came to London? Who were her parents? Was she a good queen? Why?
The ruler was the queen elisabeth.

5. What was the established religion in England during Shakespeare times? Who was Henry VIII? How did he and his daughter influence religion in England?

6. Who was Cristopher Marlowe? Which kind of relationship did he have with Shakespeare? How did he die? What might have been suspicious circumstances surrounding his death?

Christopher Marlowe was a playwright, poet and translator of the time elisabethiana. He is known for its magnificent white lines, the striking characters and their untimely death.  
Marlowe accused of being a government spy. As mentioned, in 1587, the Privy Council ordered Cambridge University to give Marlowe the Master of Arts. With that, he denied rumors about possible plans to enter college English Catholic Rheims and stated that, in contrast, had been involved in activities not specified in the service of the Queen.

The Puritans were a group of people who grew discontent in the Church of England and worked towards religious and were radical Protestants. They believed that worship should be simple and regular

- THE FANCY DRESS PARTY: Are the costumes the characters wear in the party relevant? What do they represent? Relate the knightly armour to chivalric love.

RELIGION: Religion is something by which the two families justify their actions. There are many religious references in the film (e.g. in the title). Which are they? Why? Do they also appear in Shakespeare’s work?
